DOMA Accessibility App
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disabilities among children and young adults. Despite the incline to research ADHD, there has been little consideration in the academic industry to thoroughly assist and accommodate those with ADHD. These individuals often struggle with learning and focusing, interacting with the environment, forming relationships with others, etc. which can affect day-to-day life. Designing with these conditions in mind can help create an inclusive and less demanding world for those with different abilities.
The David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA), located in Ball State University, would benefit from accessibility improvements such as modeling an application for both students and visitors with ADHD. This app can be used to find information before and after visiting the museum, providing specific tools to help manage inattention and hyperactivity. This will allow for more positive experiences inside and outside of the museum all while supporting target audiences of young adults on campus and unique guests alike.
