Ohlund Taxidermy Branding

Ohlund Taxidermy, the family-owned business located in Kentland, IN, was once sought-after to provide the best taxidermy and tanning services in the local area. As the profession has decreased in popularity over time, so has the prevalence of this small-town shop. Redesign of essential marketing and branding material was requested in order to bring this business back to life. This practicum experience was extremely personal to me as I was designing directly for my grandfather, Stephen Ohlund, founder of Ohlund Taxidermy.

After analyzing the existing stationary content, my grandfather and I agreed that the branding style was outdated and past due for redesign. However, the original logo illustrated core aspects of his business, such as handwork/craft, appreciation for nature, and other personal intentions. I kept these traits in mind while creating the logo, reflecting his dedication and love for taxidermy while also being inspired by modern design trends. The other final deliverables included business cards, envelopes, invoice sheets, and website.
